Coconut oil and Baking Soda Cleanser
Coconut oil is something that is almost always available in an Indian household, due to its benefits for hair, but we don’t recognise the many other uses of coconut oil. Coconut oil tackles fungal infections, protects from the sun, cleanses the skin, moisturizes it, and reduces signs of ageing and much more. Baking Soda on other hand balances the skin pH level and is an excellent exfoliator, as it cleanses your skin pores of dead skin, dirt and other pollutants, thereby making your skin bright and soft. For this simple cleanser you will need
- Solid Coconut oil (for sensitive skin 2 tbsp and 1 tbsp for normal skin)
- Baking Soda (for sensitive skin 1 tbsp and 1 tbsp for normal skin)
Mix the above ingredients thoroughly based on your skin type, and if the mixture is too thick mix a little warm water to make the mixture easier to apply. Massage this mixture thoroughly on your face in circular upward motions, and make sure that the mixture penetrates the layers of the skin. You can wash off the mixture immediately with warm water, or you can leave the cleanser on for a few more minutes before you wash it off with warm water, it is all based on your preference. Make sure to use this cleanser at least 4 times a week to get quick and effective results.
Curd and Honey Cleanser
Curd has high nutritional value, Vitamin C, calcium, zinc etc. that make it a boon for your skin and hair care. Curd is very easy to make at home itself with milk; It is advised to use this homemade curd rather than getting store bought curd which may have preservatives added in it. Honey is naturally antibacterial, that contains many antioxidants that boost your complexion, reduces skin issues, cleanse your skin etc. This cleanser is easy combination of these two, so you will need
- 2 tsp Curd
- 1 tsp honey (best if organic)
- 1 tsp olive oil (not recommended for oily skin)
Mix all the above ingredients thoroughly in a bowl, and apply it on your face in upward circular motions. Let the cleanser stay on for a few minutes before you wash it off with cold water, and then apply a good toner and moisturizer to complete your face cleansing routine. Egg and Honey Cleanser
Egg has many properties that help nourish your skin and reduce any signs of ageing, especially when egg is mixed with honey which has natural antibacterial properties, a number of antioxidants etc. that give you beautiful skin. For this simple cleanser you will need
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tbsp organic honey
- Paste of 6-7 almonds (optional, but highly recommended)
Mix the above ingredients thoroughly in a bowl to form a smooth paste. Apply this paste on your face and massage in circular motions, so that the cleanser penetrates your skin. Let the pack remain for at least 15 minutes or till it dries off, and then wash it off with warm water. With just one use of this cleanser you will notice visible difference in your face.
Honey and Milk Cleanser
Milk especially raw milk contains calcium, alpha hydroxy acids, B-vitamins and many other powerful antioxidants, that will cleanse your skin and the raw milk also soothes any burns or rashes on your skin. When raw milk is mixed with honey, it becomes all the more potent, because honey has a number of antioxidants, natural antibacterial, cleansing, healing and moisturizing properties. For this simple cleanser you will need
- 2 tsp raw milk
- 1 tsp organic honey
- ½ tsp organic ghee (not recommended for oily skin)
Mix all the above ingredients to form a lotion like consistency paste, and apply it evenly and completely on your face. Massage it gently on your face using circular motions for 5 to 6 minutes. Let the cleanser remain for a few minutes before you wash it off with warm water. This cleanser will leave your skin moisturized, smooth and supple; therefore it is suggested to repeat this cleanser at least 4 times a week for desired results.

Pineapple juice Cleanser
Pineapple juice is not just a yummy fruit it also contains antioxidants, Vitamin C and bromelain that protect your skin from sun damage, prevent skin issues like acne, tone your skin etc. Like always it is recommended to get an organic pineapple rather than a normal one, which may contain pesticides or insecticides, which may harm your skin and your overall health. For this cleanser you will need
- 2 tsp pineapple juice
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp baking soda
Mix all the above ingredients in a bowl to form a thick paste, which is to be applied in gentle massaging motions all over your face, with special concentration on oily areas like ‘T’ zone, under chin etc. Let this cleanser remain for at least 5 minutes before you wash it off with cool water. Make sure to repeat this cleanser at least twice a week to get quick results.

Besan or Gram Flour Cleanser
Besan or Gram flour has been an age old remedy for skin aliments, as it reduces oiliness, lightens skin, fights skin issues like acne, is an excellent body scrub, removes unwanted hair etc. Besan or Gram flour can be made at home but store bought besan also works fine for skin treatments. For making this simple cleanser you will need
- 2 tbsp besan or gram flour
- 2 tbsp raw milk or curd (you can add more if you want)
Mix both the ingredients thoroughly in a bowl in to form a medium consistency paste, which is easy to apply. Apply this paste on your face in gentle massaging motions, which will ensure that your skin is thoroughly cleansed. Let the mixture stay on for about 15 minutes (no longer because it may get too dry thereby making it very hard to remove), before you wash it off with cool water and then pat dry it. Make sure to apply a good moisturizer after this. This cleanser is very effective but you should not use it daily, as it may cause your face to lose moisture. Repeat this cleanser twice a week for amazing results.

Tomato is a fruit that not only improves your health but also treats your skin issues, as it is a natural astringent, a natural sunscreen, a natural bleaching agent, treats opens pores, cleans skin by removing dirt and dead skin cells, gives slowing skin etc. For this cleanser you will need
- 2 tsp tomato pulp (I suggest you make the pulp of the tomato with the peel)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp raw milk
Mix all the above ingredients to form a semi liquid paste that is easy to apply. Apply this paste gently with thorough circular massaging motions all over your face, with extra concentration on the oily areas of your face. Let this mixture remain for at least 10 minutes, before you wash it off with cool water. This mixture can be stored for future use, but it is suggested to make fresh cleanser every time you use, as the stored one may lose its potency. This remedy is best repeated every day for quick results.
